1. Weeks 15th-28th february.
Temperatures gradually recovering through the 11th-28th day period over Europe. Temperatures could rise much quicker than expected over central and north Europe, with average-slightly above values in Germany, UK and southern Scandinavia. Semi-westerly flow can favour several lows over Europe, with high wind generation over UK, Germany, Netherlands and France.
2. Weeks 1st-15th March.
We expect a high pressure centred over Scandinavia and North Sea. Meanwhile new lows can affect mid-south Europe. This pattern over Europe can set a stage for a potentially significant cold outbreak spreading into Scandinavia, and then towards central Europe. We expect a period of anomalous cold across much of Europe.
